ABOUT BLUESNAPPER
Alex Marks
I first picked up a camera when I was a grom. I documented everything throughout my childhood with stills, video and writing.
It was about 4 years ago when I seriously began shooting images of the surf. In the quest for waves, snow, people and perfect light I have been lucky enough to have hunted through, Hawaii, Canada, France, Spain, Italy, Fiji, Indonesia and the United States.
As much as I love to travel, Australia is home and always will be.
I love that every single image by every photographer is unique. Every time I pick up the camera I learn something new and I hope this continues forever.
I shoot with Canon cameras and lenses and use Aquatech water housings.
Enjoy the website and keep coming back for snaps. Cheers

A fascination and love of the ocean lead me to pursue a career as a marine biologist. Through this work and as a keen surfer i have been privilaged to travel to some of the most amazing coastlines in the world and this has inspired me to use photography as a medium to capture the mood and emotions associated with these landscapes. Beginning around 5 years ago, i learnt the basics of photography through film SLR and lomographic format cameras until recently progressing to digital SLR. I currently shoot with a Canon 400D body combined with a range of Canon EF and old Nikon F mount lenses.

Grown up for all my 18 years in Mona Vale. Started shooting with a point and shoot digital 2.5 years ago, then after 10 months moved to my first DSLR canon 450D. Then got a 40D about a year ago with a Delmar water housing to get into the water. Took a while for me to hone my skills in the water and love to shoot anything and everything.
I focus a lot on beach art photography, dramatic landscapes and wave photography, drawing inspiration form Hawaiian Clark Little.
Zander
first picked up a camera in year 9 at school for some unknown reason but has followed his passion ever since, focusing on Surf Photography. Not growing up next door to the beach has hindered some oppurtunities for his photography but he has spent a lot of time behind the wheel to ensure he gets to the beach as much as possible and in June/July of 2009 went on a surfing trip to Mexico and scored some smoking shots. In recent times he has made progress due to fact he gained sophi who has a beach house at Whale and has worked closely with Tim Taplin!
Sarah Christensen
moved from WA to the Northern Beaches about 6 years ago and now lives in Manly. Her passion for travel and surf photography takes her on many adventures.

Growing up in South Africa I enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle mainly spent surfing my local break at Long Beach, Kommetjie, a little beach side town in Cape Town. I also had the privilege of trying my hand at all sorts of creative ventures, from shaping surfboards to working on location in the film industry as a set designer and builder. I have trained as a graphic designer and have spent most of my four years in Australia in the world of print and design. Photography is one of my greatest loves, that and surfing.
Life is all about pursuing adventure. I have travelled to the United States snowboarding, dived in Jamaica, surfed in Indonesia and white river rafted in Namibia.
Mikala Wilbow
I am a surf lifestyle photographer based on the northern beaches of Sydney. I grew up miles away from the beach and this gave me the freedom of being on the open road at any hour searching for the unknown and looking for adventure. This is where my inspiration comes from and what influences my style through all of my images.

This site is all about shooting quality images of the people getting out and amongst it, the surfing way of life, the characters, the chargers and the visitors to this all time area of the coast.
Here you will find high quality photography from up on the headlands, down on the beach and out in the water, anywhere from the Bower to the Joey at any time of the day.
So whether you’re fishing for a picture of you barrelled off your head, a shot of your old man stabilising his mal or simply a sunrise at your favourite beach, then dive on in.
Hope you enjoy the images.
