East swell, offshore winds, clean barrels, frothy barrels, dry heat, punts, punters, pro's and pro juniors. A week in the life of the Northern Beaches. Another ripper, what an epic place to live.

Pro Junior: Yesterday I spent the day at Manly shooting the Dripping Wet Pro Junior event. The surfers were blowing up. Throwing bucket loads of water around and punting off every little section they could find. Stand out of the day for me was Mitch Crews, with solid turns and ridiculous airs. See some of Mitch's recent antics here. The event continues through this weekend, so get down to Manly and check it out. My snaps from the day will be up here next week.

Hurley Pro: The first few rounds of the Hurley Pro over in Cali has been out of control. With massive upsets, solid performances, pop shuvits and epic commentary from my hoop shooting mate Mitchel Ross. Biggest upsets of the event so far: Rob Machado taking down both Taj and Parko, wow! Most solid performance so far (ignoring that Slater bloke and my bias): Local Northern Beaches inhabitant Kai Otton. Kai had a comfortable win in round one and then a strong win in round three, he is now through to round four against Bede Durbidge. Watch Kai's round three win here. Probably watch Machado vs Parko too.

Now for the bad news... Surf is not looking great for the next little while. Hopefully that is all a big mistake by the swell forecasters in this world.

Update,Good size at S facing with steady offshore's, Morning Report: Waves 3-4ft Swell S @9 secs,winds WSW-SW-W 12-22 knots easing,Added size, stacked southern lines and crisp offshore's, open beaches a good 3ft ,south facing consistent 4ft , winds similar to previous days WSW>SW but due to ease by evening and back to west, great day to get wet with even points and reefs starting to show form on dropping tide.

Sunny,Winds: Southwesterly 15 to 20 knots turning westerly in the evening. Seas: 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing below 1 metre around midday, then increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres later in the evening. Swell: Southerly 1.5 to 2 metres, decreasing to 1.5 metres during the afternoon.
