What Dust? 24 Sep 09
Yesterday was a little different wasn't it. I woke up feeling a little dusty, wondering where the smell of smoke was? It was obvious the whole of the Northern Beaches was on fire. Either that or the world was about to end?
I guess we were dust getting our own little taste of what it is like to live out in the bush. There were fun little waves hiding in that dust too, strong offshore winds making for clean waves and filthy air.
Then today as if it never happened we are left with perfect blue skies and a new south swell to dig into.
Pro Junior:This week there are a few shots from the Dripping Wet Pro Junior event held at Manly last weekend. Owen Wright dominated the event in his usual form. His win at this event secured him first place for the year on the Pro Junior circuit. I am looking forward to watching him surf against the best in the world on tour next year. Cheers to Toby Martin who was commentating the event. He must have given Blue Snapper at least six plugs over the mic. I have a corona or two waiting in the fridge for you mate. |

Quiksilver Pro France: This event got underway yesterday, kicking off in 3-5 foot racey lefts and rights. There were some solid performances throughout the day, with a few wildcards taking down the top seeds in their heats. Should run again today so jump online and watch the live webcast for all the action as it unfolds. Kai and Dayyan are surfing to stay in the event in Round two, c'mon boys! |

Winner winner chicken dinner: The lucky winner of the Tom Carroll signature series Softech 5'4" Quad Fish is Lance Burrows from Rushcutters Bay. This board will be a perfect addition to your quiver to throw around on these small spring days. Hopefully I can get a shot of Lance testing the board out in the coming weeks. For more info on these baords hit up the Softech website now. |

Rock'n'roll night: On Saturday the 3rd October, in association with EMI records, Glass Avenue in Newport is presenting an epic night of rock'n'roll for the people of the Northern Beaches. With the lineup including: The Scare and The Kickouts aka Radiophobia, this night is all set to go off. Mark it down in your iphone calendars and prepare yourself mentally and physically. |
Waves aren't bad today, get out there if you can. Looking good for the next couple of days too. Nice!
Have a great week, enjoy the snaps and see you in the surf.
Cheers,
AL
