It's that hectic time of the year again. Christmas, family, presents, parties, flat surf, shopping and late bluesnapper email updates. Sorry, I escaped the madness and boarded a plane to Hawaii.

So here are some images from my trip to the rock and a bunch from Hayden and Mitch of what's been going down on the Northern Beaches (not a lot I hear.) My usual ramblings about this and that are also included for those that like to read.
Thanks to all of you for getting on board bluesnapper.com.au, it has been a great year and I am stoked on all the support. Special thanks to all of my family, my chicky babe (Lani), my mates and all contributing photogs Hayden, Mitch, Zander, Sam, Sarah, Andy and all the rest. Cheers to all the advertisers and a huge thanks to Jozz (web guru) without you mate this site would look like...
well it would look like nothing at all.

Hawaii: This place is all time. Yes I say that about a lot of places. But...cheap alcohol, warm weather, epic waves, lots of girls on the beach and an incredible shuffleboard table.
It's all old news now but: Mick and Steph both became world champs, Taj smashed Kelly at Pipe and Parko won the triple crown for the 2nd time in a row, solid!
When you get a chance to go to Hawaii head straight to the North Shore. Fill up at Haleiwa Cafe for breaky, get exfoliated in the shoreys at Keiki and get a syrup hit at Matsumuto's with a Shave Ice (yep Shave Ice - they like to drop the 'd'.)
Check out some Hawaii snaps in the snapshow there will be more again next week.

Christmas: Hope it was full of spirits, sacks, long stockings, ho ho ho's and even little tiny elves if that tickles your fancy. I'm sure most of you were reasonably good so santa would have sorted you out accordingly. I was in NYC for Christmas Day, it was white, it was busy, we went and watched the Knicks shoot hoops then had dinner in a Japanese restaurant with a bunch of Aussies.

Enjoy the rest of your holidays people. Surf safe and drive safe.
See you back on the beaches in a couple of days.

Arvo update.Swells pushed a little with 4 ft sets, winds went SW but now coming back around to WSW, Morning Report: Waves 2-3ft, swell SSE,wind W-WSW-SW 8-18 knots. Clean lines out of the SE have replaced yesterdays NE swell, 2ft on open beaches,2-3ft at S facing and could yet build a little more, winds out of the W tending WSW. Lows established in the southern Tasman, looks to be sitting pretty for a few days, worth a paddle with S facing getting the size,check Coastalwatch swell forecast.
