Snapshow
Yeeeeew 16 Apr 10
How fun have the waves been! Autumn shows up, the winds swing round to the west, the waves grow and summer slop is gone and forgotton.
Easter was epic up and down the coast. The past week has had it's 'all time' moments too.
Well worthy of using the words 'what a dream.'
We got it all over the past fortnight: Barrels. Sun. Offshores and even onshores (if that's your thing.) Dolphins jumping (if that's what you call it, they don't have legs...mmm.) Vortices.
Sailing. Gigs, Logging. Shorting. Finners and Spinners. A whole lot has been going on, check it all out in the snapshow.
Portrait: This week meet Raine Jackson. Raine lives in Palmy and surfs at Whaley, she's nineteen and has been surfing for half her life. I caught up with Raine and here is what she said. Fave wave? The wedge without question. Board of choice? I just got a sick new 5'8 from Lee Stacey. Loving it! Best overseas trip? Bali with Insight in 07 and Jamaica in 08. Biggest wave you've caught? Maybe 8ft one day at Dee Why point. Who will win the mens and womens world titles this year? Taj! and Carrisa Moore will give Steph a run for her money. Best thing about living on the Northern Beaches? The people, the everlasting relaxed atmosphere and it's the true place I call home. Thanks to Sam Edmonds for the portraits this week.
Ellis Ericson: My mate Ellis has been keeping himself busy over the past two weeks. Surfing three times a day, with each wave documented by his filmer Nick Stone (got some talent this kid.) Here is an epic little clip they put together, check it.
Fan yourself: Thousands of you haven't yet? C'mon, I know you have facebook. Everyone does. |
Now for the week ahead...
Going on today's hoax swell I am just going to say it will be pumping each and every day. Cause it just might be?
Have a great weekend people.
See you in the shoreys.
