Will this rain ever stop? Sometimes it's a good thing. The surf glasses off and people can't check it without getting out of their cars, which keeps the crowd numbers super low. (This was yesterday.)

Sometimes it's a bad thing. It's howling onshore, everywhere is flooding and only the very keenest of us are out there in the washing machine. (This was today.)

How was Sunday! Everyone will compare it to Anzac Day '09 until the next epic swell. Some big calls were being thrown around comparing our beaches to some of the best breaks in the world: Pipeline, Puerto Escondido and Mundaka were just a few of the comparisons I heard.

Ballsy: the crew at Surfstitch.com have gone a little world cup crazy and have decided to take a little punt. If the Socceroos win their round 1 pool... Surfstitch will refund in full any purchase made over $150 (from now until the 12th June.) Imagine buying two new surfboards, a hoodie and a couple of Bluesnapper canvases then getting the lot for free! Sickest!

Shred Sled: I just got my hands on one of these little beauties from the crew down at Haydenshapes and I have never frothed over a board so hard. So far I have had four surfs on it in as many days and scored my best barrel of the year so far. Works for me in pretty much all conditions and (hot tip) I am not about to throw the camera away and jet off on the world tour. Wanna have more fun out in the waves. Get on the shred sled.

So looks like we are in for more rain, more onshore and pretty ugly surf. Let's just hope it's all a lie.

Morning Report: Waves 2ft, swell NE ,wind WNW 20-35 knots easing. Blowing like stink offshore which has cleaned up yesterdays wind swell nicely but will continue to erode the size, 2ft on open beaches , hit it early as the tides on the way out and there will be a few hollow ones on offer before swells ironed out, winds will ease up later,,check Coastalwatch swell forecast.
