I have been busy. Real busy. You may have noticed that you haven't had a Bluesnapper email in your inbox for a while...

Between shooting weddings, surfing, portraits, landscapes and a bunch of other things in the past few months - the site has been suffering. Sorry everyone. I will try to fill you in on what I've been doing.

Back in late January my mate Josh Simpson walked into my place with news of a Hawaiian swell that had appeared on the radar. We pulled up a few charts and made a call. "Let's go to Hawaii tomorrow!" and so we did, after racing down the south coast to photograph a wedding, we were off. The North Shore here we come.

I contacted a fellow photographer 'Steve Wall' who had a house over there, he said he had a garage which we could possibly inhabit for a few days. We now had accommodation. Yew! Cheers Steve, you're a legend I tell ya.

We were in Hawaii for a total of 8 nights and it was absolutely pumping, one of the best experiences I have had. Check out some of my photos from the trip. Some better ones went off to the mags which I was pretty stoked about too. Good times.

Ok, so I can't fill you in on all the stuff I've been up to, cause you will be reading for too long. Guess I will tell you some more in the next email. I will try to make it quick.

Update, Winds steady southerly, oceans a little troubled but waves to ride in protected S ends,Morning Report: Waves 4-5ft+ Swell SSE @10.5 secs ,winds SW-SSW-S 14-26 knots. After easing a little yesterday swells got its vigor back, open beaches solid 3-4ft+, S facing 4-5ft with bigger sets, Its cold, wet and waves have a raw winter's edge but keep rolling with plenty to ride, winds due to edge south again with cleanest conditions still in protected S ends, reefs and points.

Weather Report

Isolated showers,Winds: Southerly 20 to 30 knots decreasing to 20 to 25 knots in the late afternoon. Seas: 2 metres, decreasing below 1.5 metres by early evening. Swell: Southerly 3 to 4 metres, decreasing to 3 metres later in the evening.
